Technology Expert: Nanotechnology
Brief Profile: Dr. Anasuya Roy is the founder and chief executive officer of Nanosafe Solutions, a technological start-up in collaboration with IIT Delhi and an academic spin-off from her doctoral research work at IIT Delhi. Dr. Anasuya Roy has completed her PhD Degree from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2019 in the area of antimicrobial polymer nanocomposites for biomedical applications. She is also a recipient of Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG), sponsored by BIRAC, DBT in 2019. She was also a DAAD research fellow for IIT-DAAD Master Scholarship program in which she carried out research work on polymeric composites at University of Stuttgart, Germany. She has contributed 11 published papers in peer reviewed journals and 3 book chapters. Currently she is focusing on developing antimicrobial functionalized nanomaterials and polymeric nanocomposite materials augmented with active copper for multi-fold applications
Startup Profile: A technological start-up in collaboration with IIT Delhi striving to develop cost effective nanotechnology-based innovations. With a vision aligned with Atmanirbhar Bharat, we are ardent promoters of indigenous cutting-edge technology solutions on a global platform. Nanosafe Solutions is the one of the first companies in the global market to commercialise a polymeric nanocomposite material as a consumer product. During COVID-19 lockdown, they develop innovative COVID-19 products which are technologically advanced as well as cost-effective. NSAFE mask, which was developed in under 20 days is our flagship patent pending product which is 50 times reusable and deactivates SARS-CoV-2 in less than 30 mins. Our second COVID-19 launch, Rubsafe sanitizer is based on a zero-alcohol formulation which is effective for 24 hours and is safe to be applied on baby’s skin. They have also developed the world’s first antimicrobial bottles based on polymer nanocomposite technology in which water is clean from microbes upon storage in 30 mins.
