It fills our heart with pride and joy inexplicable to see the marching contingents on Rajpath, balancing acts and pulsating aerial displays on 73rd Republic Day. Although celebrations, took place under the shadow of the Coronavirus pandemic yet again with strict guidelines in place, our spirit to commemorate the Day when our Constitution came into effect in 1950, is not bogged down at all. This is because the insurmountable spirit and the resolve to beat the pandemic is backed by science and technology efforts that kept the nation moving during the trying times and helped it defeat the two waves of the pandemic successfully. Be it developing indigenous vaccines, manufacturing masks, PPE kits, production of medical oxygen, medicines and other essentials required to fight the pandemic, India’s relentless efforts are testimony to its prowess in the field of science and technology. Come what may, our strong foundation of S&T will always be there to back our efforts.
Further, in the face of adversity, the nation has moved leaps and bounds in augmenting its healthcare infrastructure, vaccine manufacturing capacity and production of other essentials. It gives us hope that we will successfully tide over the present situation and tame the Omicron variant, too. As mentioned in our constitution it is our fundamental duty to develop the scientific temper, humanism and spirit of inquiry and reform. With science by our side, this Republic Day let’s resolve to beat the pandemic black and blue by wearing a mask, maintaining social distance, getting vaccinated and adhering to all the government guidelines and protocols.
Jai Hind!
