Executive Summary : | Objective: Mask with an Integrated Air Filtration Unit, Power Module, Nasal Air Purifier. Summary: The current COVID 19 pandemic is a classic example of a respiratory attack by a virus. The air we breathe is increasingly contaminated by many infectious airborne particles such as bacteria and viruses. These are hazardous to the respiratory system of any individual, and especially those with underlying conditions. Across the globe, a dearth of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has put frontline healthcare workers, doctors, and police personnel at risk of being infected with COVID 19. Membranes can play a major role in air filtration as they are capable of removing fine solid particulate matters such as dust, pollen, mold, and bacteria. Membranes are finding increasing application in respirators, personal protective equipment and blood oxygenators. If pore size in the range of ultrafiltration (UF) or nanofiltration (NF) are employed (10-3?10-4 µm), then even viruses can be removed from air. This project has been jointly developed by Lycan 3D and CSIR-IICT. The design of respiratory system and electrical composition shall be done by Lycan 3D and synergically CSIR-IICT would help Lycan 3D in developing innovative polymeric and hybrid fibrous filters which would remove the particles suspended in air and destroy any airborne viral particles. |
