Executive Summary : | The proposed solution addresses the issues of uncontrolled porosity, poor infiltration, high temperature annealing, limited material choices, photocatalytic effect, slow devices, large light soaking time, and thick architecture in conventional perovskite solar cell (CPSC) fabrication. It replaces screen-printing with paste/ink-based extrusion-controlled 3D printing, allowing for controlled porosity, wide range of materials utilization, better infiltration, reduced device thickness, faster and effective device fabrication, and lower light soaking time. The solution will resolve various challenges associated with conventional CPSCs, allowing for localized fabrication at a much lower cost. This will also help in achieving the GoI target of solar PV installation by locally manufacturing solar cells in India at much lower costs, considering the cost-effectiveness of CPSCs and their stability standards similar to Si PV technology. India can start solar cell production with easily available materials through commercially available low-cost extrusion-based 3D printers. |
