Executive Summary : | The study aims to use 6-SIDipp, a new compound in boron chemistry, to stabilize multiply bonded boron compounds like parent oxoborane, hydroxyl oxoborane, or smaller ring compounds like boriranes and study their chemistry. The research will also extend to aluminum, as NHC-aluminium chemistry is the least well-studied to date, due to its high natural abundance and low cost. The study will also extend to Gr. 14, attempting to stabilize SiH₄, the methane analogue of silicon, and study its reactivity. Additionally, a ring-expanded imine will be developed from 6-SIDipp, which will be studied as a ligand for main-group compounds. Finally, some aluminum hydrides will be used for catalytic applications. The research aims to improve the understanding of six-membered carbenes and their potential applications in boron chemistry. |
