Objective: The main objective of the award is to accord recognition to high caliber scientific research undertaken by Indian scientists preferably below the age of 50 and living and working in India. The award will be given to a young scientist engaged in research in any branch of science-basic or applied- including medical science. In assessing the merit of a scientist his work and contribution during the last 5 years will be specially taken into consideration
