Announcement Time: The award will be administered by the ICAR through the award cell in a two- stage process. In stage one the applications will be evaluated by a committee at the level of the institution where the teacher has been teaching. The committee will evaluate all the local nominations and short list not more than two outstanding teachers per subject area. In stage two there will be a judging committee consisting of 5-7 eminent agricultural educationists including the chairman. The judging committee will evaluate the nominations, identity outstanding teachers in various subject areas and make no award will be given in the particular subject area.

Objective: i) To provide recognition to outstanding teachers, ii) To provide incentive for excellence in teaching iii) To promote quality teaching in selected areas of agricultural and allied services.

Criteria: All teachers engaged in undergraduate/post-graduate teaching in the educational institutions of the ICAR-SAU system are eligible. The teacher must have an independent teaching experience for a minimum of five academic years in the particular subject area. The awards are primarily meant for individual teachers independently teaching a course or part of a integrated course. The teaching work submitted for the award must have been done during the five years preceding the year of the award.
