Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad offers Undergraduate B.Tech degrees in nine disciplines of Engineering, M.Tech degrees in eight disciplines of Engineering, postgraduate and Research degrees across all disciplines in Engineering, Sciences and Liberal Arts. It uses a so-called Fractal Academic System, involving continuous evaluation of students. IIT, Hyderabad has been allocated projects from industrial and government funding agencies. The project "Development of High-Energy Density Li-ion Batteries for Mobile Applications" entails developing electrode materials for Li-ion batteries and fabricating the batteries. ARCI, in collaboration with IIT Hyderabad, is embarking on a program to develop high-energy density batteries. The institute is involved in the DISANET project for disaster mitigation, an Indo-Japanese collaboration. It has also been involved with India's first 5G patent removing fluoride from water using naturally occurring Jamun seeds, developing a constant drug delivery system for the body through skin patch and other research projects. In the year 2015, almost 250 articles were published in Journals while almost 100 papers were accepted in conferences.
