Details
Executive Summary : | The proposed research aims to analyze CT/MRI data at Manipal Hospital to identify underlying causes of ureteral obstructions and develop patient-specific 3D ureter models. The study will examine CT/MRI data for ureteral diseases and obstructions, investigate the influence of ureter stones on flow behavior, and develop phantom subjcct-specific ureter models. The collaboration between MAHE Manipal and KIT Japan will help analyze urological disorders and develop patient-specific 3D ureter models for Fluid-Structure Interaction FSI simulations. This collaboration will strengthen bilateral cooperation and help researchers address new issues with complicated ureteral flow dynamics. MAHE Manipal and Kyushu Institute of Technology are collaborating to develop numerical simulations and experimental studies for urine flow phenomena and hydrodynamics in patient-specific cases. The research aims to help medical professionals plan surgical interventions and understand the mechanism of urinary tract dysfunctions, such as kidney stones and stenosis. The collaboration aims to improve patient-specific models and corrective actions for bladder and kidney dysfunctions. The research will also contribute to the design of ureteral stents and interventional studies. |
