Executive Summary : | The project aims to raise awareness about the environmental hazards caused by population growth, urbanization, and rapid industrialization, which threaten human health and wellbeing. It aims to promote technologically enhanced measures and processes to curb environmental damage. Conventional technologies may not be enough to tackle emerging environmental issues such as wasteful energy policies, overuse of resources, water supply shortages, climate change, global warming, and deforestation. Advancements in science and technology have contributed to the development of green technologies that could help solve some or all of these environmental issues.
The proposed three-day awareness workshop will target school children in rural Aspiration District to help them make sustainable habits for saving the environment and natural resources. The workshop will cover topics such as waste water treatment, management, and quality check, pollution detection and corrective measures, energy conservation, and e-waste disposal. The organization has experience in science communication and has received awards for women development through application of science and technology from the DST Govt. of India for 2017 SEED Division and outstanding efforts in science and technology popularization from the DST Govt. of India for 2017 NCSTC Division. The program will help students in rural areas consider available natural resources and their effective and sustainable utilization.
