Executive Summary : | The study aims to conduct a systematic review of studies evaluating the impacts of climate and land cover changes on water resources, develop a multi-catchment dataset incorporating land cover, climate, and hydrological changes across hundreds of meso-scale catchments, analyze historical impacts using an eco-hydrological model, and develop a joint research proposal for a comprehensive multi-model, multi-catchment climate and land cover change impact and uncertainty assessment for major research funding. The results will be published in a peer-reviewed scientific paper.
The third exchange visit will analyze historical land cover and climate change impacts on water resources using the extended CAMELS dataset. Catchments will be clustered based on observed changes in land cover and climate, and if related hydrological changes occurred, the explanatory power of these changes will be evaluated. The team will use an eco-hydrological model approach to simulate hydrological processes with and without land cover change. The results will be used to develop a joint project proposal for a comprehensive multi-model, multi-catchment climate and land cover change impact and uncertainty assessment. |
