Executive Summary : | Objective: To develop a niche technology for the producing long gauge distributed optical strain and deformation sensors using fiber Bragg grating (FBG) devices for application in SHM; To monitor the most significant parameters that are needed to better understand deterioration processes and optimizing the sensing parameters using FBG based long gauge sensors; To develop robust/smart Structural Health Monitoring methodology for global and local damage assessment. Summary: TiO2-A stable till 1200 °C is very essential to fabricate self-cleaning ceramic tiles in one step Very recently, we have developed a spray-drying based simple and scalable strategy for the synthesis to TiO2-A nano-sheet, simply by spray drying of aqueous titanium ammonium peroxo carbonate complex solution as precursor followed by calcination. The precursor solution was synthesized from titanium hydroxide, ammonium carbonate and H2O2. The anatase phase of synthesized TiO2 is stable till 1000 °C. Importantly, the stability till 1000 °C of the synthesized TiO2-A was achieved without addition of additional substrate as dopant. The process is IPR protected and ready at 100g scale Recent discussion with different ceramic tiles company, particularly with “Johnson Tiles”, it is concluded that the TiO2 is stable till 1200 °C is a potential material for ceramic industries. Till date, no successful report is available on the fabrication of TiO2 based self-cleaning ceramic tiles through single-step process owing to the non-availability of 1200 °C stable TiO2-A. Thus our present target is the development of a suitable synthetic procedure for TiO2-A stable till 1200 °C using the developed spray drying based strategy, aqueous titanium preoxo-carbonate solution as precursor and a suitable dopant. For which systematic experiments for the selection of dopant as well as reaction optimization will be performed. After successful synthesis of TiO2-A stable till 1200, its applicability for self-cleaning ceramic tiles will be evaluated at R&D center of “Johnson Tiles”, Mumbai, which they have promised during our last discussion. We will also evaluate its IR reflecting efficiency, to evaluate its applicability as cool tiles in addition to self-cleaning properties. The TiO2-A stable till 1000 °C synthesized by the developed method showed 92 % solar IR reflection efficiency. |
