Executive Summary : | The project aims to develop novel materials for biomass valorization catalysis, testing them for various biomass conversion reactions and exploring different reaction routes from platform molecules to fine chemicals. The collaboration between Russian and Indian groups aims to develop efficient, selective catalysts for biomass conversion and valorization reactions. The proposed catalysts will be used for carbonylation, CO2 fixation, and enhancing process knowledge for known biomass conversion and valorization reactions. The Indian group will explore carbonylation and CO2 utilization reactions with precision, aiming to develop fine chemicals products with common bio-derived platform molecules.
The Russian group seeks to create new polymer-based catalysts and develop novel methods for obtaining platform molecules using lignocellulosic biomass. The proposed catalysts will be based on Ru, Pd, Rh, Ni, Mn, Co, and Fe metals and metal oxide and bimetallic nanoparticles. The group will test these catalysts in biomass processing reactions to synthesize chemical compounds. They will also develop thermally stable aromatic linear and hyperbranched polymers with coordinating tri-pyridine fragments. The polymers will be studied using various physicochemical methods to determine optimal conditions for polymers. The composites will be studied using various techniques. |
