Executive Summary :

This project aims to develop artificial intelligence-based algorithms for real-time traffic control in urban areas, particularly unconventional intersection designs like Median U-turn and Displaced Left Turn intersections. The goal is to develop algorithms for automated guided vehicles and test them with alternative geometrical structures like Diverging Diamond Interchange. The project's main contribution is the use of AI in guided vehicles, which has proven useful in various fields. The project's main outcomes include analyzing problems not yet solved, developing new models and techniques, understanding traffic control in cities, and suggesting potential locations for unconventional intersection designs in India and Serbia. The project also aims to reduce environmental impacts of transport.

The authors are collaborating on traffic engineering problems using artificial intelligence. They aim to exchange knowledge and experiences in Serbia and India, focusing on pollution and traffic engineering solutions. The project, financed by the Serbian Ministry of Science and Technological Development, involves researchers from Serbia and India, including Aleksandar JovanoviÄ and Katarina KukiÄ, Ketan Kotecha and Vaishali D. Khairnar, and Rahee Walambe. The goal is to develop models for reducing traffic congestion and ecological pollution.
