Executive Summary : | Composite failure due to micro cracks is a common issue, making repairs difficult in remote locations. Self-healing composites are designed to heal cracks and damages, reducing failure and enhancing structure longevity. This proposal focuses on two methods for self-healing composites: carbon fiber laminates, micro capsules with rejuvenator, graphene/HMMM hybrid shells, and supramolecular elastomer. Iminoboronate-Based Boroxine Chemistry is used for stiff-polymer networks and self-healable characteristics. Molecular dynamics simulations validate results. |
