Executive Summary : | The Periyar University Business Incubation Confederation is a unique incubation in the state government focused on Food and Nutrition, Life Science, Rural Development, and Sustainable Development Goals. The food processing industry in India is expected to grow from Rs. 3,600 billion in 2008 to over Rs. 15,600 billion by 2022, driven by increasing income levels and a rising middle class. The Department of Food Science and Nutrition at Periyar University has developed innovative products and software, including low-cost breakfast bars, nutritional foods for diabetics, and nutrient-enriched food. Periyar University Business Incubation Confederation is developing software for calculating macro and micronutrient levels of raw ingredients, Diacare software for diabetes, and nutrition education tools for the elderly. The initiative aims to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem for students, encouraging them to enter the market and generating startups. The focus is on food and nutrition, aiming to boost immunity and economic immunity. The initiative supports the Make in India motto, progressing towards Industry 4.0, encouraging One District, One Product, and promoting sustainable development goals. |
