Executive Summary : | Green hydrogen (also known as GH2) is a form of hydrogen which is produced by renewable source of energy or low carbon power. The biomass pathway could generate hydrogen for India that is both practical and effective. India is not a pioneer in the use of biomass for power generation, but the use of biomass for the production of hydrogen offers great promise. In today's chemical sector and refineries, hydrogen is a key intermediate. since it emits no emissions and is made from renewable resources, hydrogen is regarded as a green fuel. Biomass, which is a carbon-neutral feedstock, has the potential to be one of the promising methods to create this green hydrogen. Due to the carbon dioxide generated from combustion being consumed by plants through photosynthesis to grow new biomass, biomass is a potential feedstock for the production of biofuels that are considered to be the net amount of carbon (carbon neutral). Thermochemical, biological, and steam reformation of glycerol are three ways that biomass can be converted to hydrogen. |
