Title : | Metamaterial Enhanced Wireless Power Transmission System |
Area of research : | Material Sciences, Energy Sciences, Medical Sciences |
Focus area : | Defence |
Principal Investigator : | Sisir Kumar Nayak, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati |
Details
Executive Summary : | Wireless power technology (WPT) using metamaterial will help in charging UAVs, sensors, supercapacitors which will be used in defence sector for air surveillance, border area to monitor enemy movement, measuring weather conditions. Biomedical implant if charged through WPT will help in reducing the size of the implant as smaller battery can be used and if they get discharged, it can be charged wirelessly .This will help heart patients to get rid of regular operations for removing the battery. The implant will be smaller in size, less costly and will be comfortable to put inside the body. |
