Executive Summary : | subclinical endometritis is a major cause of Repeat breeding syndrome in dairy animals in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the temperate area. Limited studies have been conducted in the district Ganderbal, and no study has been conducted on the microbiome responsible for these infections leading to conception failure in repeat breeding animals in three different zones of the Kashmir valley. The research aims to evaluate different diagnostic methods and serum markers, as well as the microbiological studies, to gain an overall picture of repeat breeding due to subclinical infections in the Kashmir valley. The study will be conducted in all three zones of the Kashmir Valley: North Zone, Central Zone, and south Zone. A minimum of 200 subclinical endometritis-affected animals will be screened from each zone, while 50 normal cycling animals without subclinical infection will serve as the control. The study will include animals that have completed at least 60 days postpartum and will compare the accuracy of different methods for diagnosing subclinical endometritis, including Cytobrush, Cytotape, and Leukocyte esterase strip tests. Cervico-vaginal mucus samples and blood samples will be taken from the animals, and the CVM samples collected by the aspiration technique will be cultured for bacterial, fungal, and protozoal isolates. Blood samples will be analyzed for levels of serum IL-6, IL-10, Haptoglobin, Nitric oxide, and Melondialdehyde (MDA). |
