Executive Summary : | Experimental determination of astrophysical capture reactions in laboratory is difficult or sometimes impossible to measure at effective astrophysical energy (or, Gamow energy). For such cases measurements are done at higher energies and then extrapolated to relevant astrophysical energy region. Extrapolation to the effective energy window requires low energy reaction models. My plan is to use R-matrix and Hauser-Feshbach theory within a suitable framework involves quantities or parameters that can be obtained indirectly from the studies of the reactions at higher energies to evaluate capture cross-section and reaction rate of some capture astrophysically relevant reaction for mass less than 25 and around 100 mass regions |
