Executive Summary :

The study aims to extract and isolate saponin from plants, determine its catalytic efficiency, reusability, and surface activity in drug synthesis, and investigate its medicinal application. The extraction process involves boiling powder in D/W and filtering, followed by isolation using reflux and drying. Chemical tests are conducted to determine the presence of saponin, and the critical micellar concentration (CMC) of natural surfactants is determined. The pH of the catalyst and aqueous solutions are measured using a digital pH meter. Structural identification of saponin and drug molecules is done using HPLC, TLC chromatographic methods, IR, NMR, and MASS spectrometric methods. The goal is to develop efficient natural surfactant-type catalysts for drug synthesis, ensuring high yields, purity, mild reaction conditions, and a simple green chemistry procedure. Saponin is an amphiphilic surfactant-type catalyst obtained from plant materials and has surface-active properties.
