Executive Summary : | Floral waste is a national issue that needs to be utilized economically for social benefit. This project aims to increase the carotenoid content in flowers and extract high-value products like lutein and enzymes from marigold flower waste using bioprocessing techniques. The end product will be probiotic-rich animal feed and compost. This project contributes to the national mission of Swachha Bharat and waste-to-wealth, generates employment opportunities in rural India, and produces import substitute valuable chemicals using waste flowers. |
