Achievements :

(i) Through this project appointment of RA has been made, who have obtained considerable training and experience in field as well as various laboratory studies, including the handling of sophisticated equipment such as Leica EM TIC 3X Triple Ion Beam Milling system for Broad Ion Beam Polishing. (ii) While sanctioning the project and the Broad Ion Beam Polishing (BIBP) equipment, MoES had stated that the same must be available for general use to other researchers as well. In this spirit, the equipment has been used by colleagues of Metallurgical Engineering as well as Civil Engineering Departments of IIT Kharagpur, West Bengal. In addition, rock thin section samples of scientists from Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology (WIHG, Dehradun, Uttarakhand) have also been subjected to BIBP followi
