Executive Summary :

To build sustainable power systems for the future, low-cost renewable technologies must be integrated and enhanced control strategies should be implemented. Integrating renewable sources at weak locations can create challenges in power availability, voltage stability issues, and spurious frequency and voltage fluctuations. Doubly fed induction generators are efficient and suitable for large wind power generation. Most weak integration studies rely on numerical modeling, which can be heavy and time-consuming when not accurate or reflect actual system conditions. Aggregated models of wind plants also pose limitations for field implementation. Experimentation in the field is expensive and may not be possible directly. scaled versions of wind generating systems can help overcome these challenges and reduce costs in field tests.
