Executive Summary : | The proposed objectives include establishing a modern millet processing unit in Dadam Village, Tirap District, Arunachal Pradesh, and addressing the gaps that prevent rural women from creating a living in a community. The project will also focus on promoting sustainable agriculture and value-adding products for millets and underutilised crops. The project will involve surveying, observing, and documenting traditional knowledge and practices, as well as identifying potential women and SHGs interested in participating. The first year will involve instrument purchase and workforce recruitment, followed by interventions in millet processing and value-added products. The project aims to raise public knowledge about women technology parks and their operations. The project aims to address the poor agricultural productivity in Tirap, a region primarily based on jhum farming. The primary crops grown are millet, maize, and paddy, with low productivity in shifting farming villages. The project also aims to strengthen the value chain of millets, tapoica, and jobs tears through value-added products. The project also aims to preserve traditional knowledge and cultural values, and address technology gaps in the region. |
