All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal is one of AIIMS-like apex healthcare institutes being established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY), with the aim of correcting regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the country, and attaining self sufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education and training.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as a premier medical institute in India in the field of medical education, research and patient care. Jhajjar Extension campus of AIIMS New Delhi (AIIMS-II) is thought to be developed as the largest Medical Education center for medical super-specialties in the World. Government has also established National Cancer Institute (NCI) within the campus of AIIMS Jhajjar.
