International Centre for Free and Open Source Software (ICFOSS), Thiruvananthapuram, is an autonomous institution of Government of Kerala, mandated with the objectives of co-ordinating FOSS initiatives within Kerala, as well as linking up with FOSS initiatives in other parts of the world in order to push the agenda of promoting access to information and knowledge through equitable models of production and distribution of software in particular and knowledge in general.

Information Kerala Mission (IKM), an autonomous institution of Local Self Government Department, Government of kerala has been setup with a mandate to strengthen the local self-governance through ICT applications. Software development, remote sensing and GIS are prime focus of the mission for research and develoment activities.
