Food and health biotechnology solutions to life: An improved way to living
The short term course aims to discuss the role of food and health biotechnology for prevention of diseases as well as to nullify the toxic effects of environmental food and water pollutants.
Functional & Technical Textiles – Design, Structure, Testing & Applications
The workshop aims to cover selected topics of the functional and technical textiles for their application in wearable technology, energy harvesting, composites and protection. The course contents are systematically arranged to include the whole gamut of science, engineering, technology and design principles that are required for the research and development of these functional textile products. Both theory and practical components have been included to help participants gaining hand on experience in products designing and analysis.
Transportation Systems: Dynamics and Control for Traffic, Vehicles, and Pedestrians
The aim of the workshop is to exposing participants to the fundamentals of transportation dynamics and control methods. Building in confidence and capability amongst the participants in the application of engineering technology in terms of sensors, actuators, processors, software methods and control design principles for transportation problem.
Atomistic Simulations of Materials
The focus of the workshop will be on the atomistic simulations of point, line, and planar defects, and study of elastic and plastic deformation properties in metallic materials. Knowledge of crystallographic structure and properties is a pre-requisite. The workhorse techniques of molecular statics (MS) and molecular dynamics (MD) will be covered in sufficient detail.
Machine Learning for Engineering Applications
The aim of the course is to introduce the relevance of machine learning in a wide range of academic and industrial problems relevant to various engineering disciplines. Topics of the sessions will include the basics of widely used algorithms for linear and non-linear regressions such as elastic net, principal component regression, support vector machine, and neural networks.
Structural integrity and reliability
This programme is based on applications of life predication and reliability of structural components under service conditions.
Seabuckthorn- Genomics, Proteomics & Metabolomics
The aim of the workshop is to train young scientists and research scholars with basic techniques of Seabuckthorn genomics, proteomics & metabolomics which includes Protein extraction from leaf and berry of Seabuckthorn followed by protein resolution on 1D & 2D PAGE, Visualization of polypeptides observed by staining followed by spot picking & trypsinization, Demonstration of instrument setup/working for Seabuckthorn antifreeze proteins activity analysis, Preparation and GC-MS analysis of fatty acid methyl esters from leaf/berry/seed and study of floral development and gender in
Digital Microfluidics: Design & Applications
The course objective is to provide the participants with today’s detailed knowledge on the physics of drops in the context of digital microfluidics, the most updated methods for fabrication and design of digital microfluidics devices and overview of application areas as it relates to mechanical, chemical and biological systems for advanced technological and industrial areas.
