Description : | The project aims at studying the exceptionally high temperature (106 K) of the solar corona using a confluence of theory and in-situ spacecraft data analysis. In this project, the efficiency of MHD turbulence for the heating of the solar corona will be investigated. For the study, a very high cadence
plasma and magnetic field data of the recent Parker Solar Probe (PSP) mission where the spacecraft
has reached the lower corona and in particular within 8.86 solar radii from the centre of the sun will be used. First, the turbulence heating rate will be estimated using an exact relation of incompressible MHD
turbulence derived recently and then the effect of the compressibility will be determined . |
