Brief Description
Description : | Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) is one of the traditional essential oil bearing plant belonging to the family poaceae. The oil is obtained from certain species of grasses of the genus Cymbopogon. The genus consists of about 80 species, 10 to 12 of which are known to occur in India. The value of Lemongrass oil depends entirely upon its citral content. Lemongrass is a plant of the humid tropics. It grows best in warm moist climate. An annual rainfall of 250 cm is ideal for its cultivation. |
