Title:

Uncertainty Quantification of Turbulence Models through eigenspace perturbations of Reynolds stresses

Area:

Astronomy & Space Sciences

Focus Area:

Aerospace

Status:

Under Development

Social Benefits:

The project being undertaken by ISRO in collaboration with academia is directly or indirectly beneficial to the society.

Developing Agency:

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Brief Description

Description :

The project envisages to quantify the typical epistemic uncertanity associated with turbulence closure models. For this, perturbation-based approach will be adopted. Uncertanity will be quantified by pertubing both the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the Reynolds stress tensor to the limiting states of one, two or three component turbulence.
