Executive Summary :

Insects are a major threat to agriculture and food security worldwide. To combat this, researchers are using sticky traps to capture flying insects and developing machine learning models to identify specific species. The goal is to control the Asian citrus psyllid Diaphorina citri, a major pest in India and a recent invasive one in Israel. The project will monitor population dynamics, calculate action thresholds for chemical control, and generate economic and environmental benefits for citrus growers.
