Executive Summary : | Herein, the main aim of this proposal is to develop a series of metal complexes anchored silica-based nano-porous materials (microporous/mesoporous), thorough characterization to understand the change of properties of the hybrid materials and finally catalytic property evaluation of the prepared materials. The integrity of the structure will be confirmed by various characterization techniques such as for metal complexes single crystal XRD and for hybrid materials powder XRD, N? sorption analysis, FT-IR etc. Thoroughly characterized support materials will be used to immobilize transition metal-based active sites. The design and further synthesis of metal complex will be planned in such a way that may actively participate in the catalytic reactions. We intend to explore the effect of metal ions on the catalytic activity and the mechanistic pathway of the proposed reaction. The effect of different solid supports as well as acid and base functionalization onto structure/property relationship will also be studied. The prepared materials will be used as a potential catalyst in CO? utilization and other industrially important reactions. |
