Executive Summary :

The project aims to understand the role of land-atmosphere interaction during thunderstorms over selected cities primarily by adopting the numerical modeling framework of WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting). It is proposed to incorporate the changes in Land Use and Land Cover (LULC), particularly during the pre-monsoon season within the meso-scale system with high resolution. This project is aimed to irnprove the predictability of localized urban weather using high resolution meso-scale model, updated LULC changes, land-surface characteristics and advanced physics.
