Details
Executive Summary : | The proposal involves groups from India and Italy to develop models of timing and plasticity in neurons and synapses, reconstruct circuit functions, and relate circuit functions to behavior and pathology. The research will use functional magnetic resonance imaging models and signals to understand neurophysiological and neurological basis and circuit operations. The study will investigate how the spinal cord, cerebellar, and basal ganglia circuits are activated using mathematically reconstructing quantitative MRI techniques. Data from the University of Pavia's cells and circuits, University of Milan's mathematical modeling, University of Modena's new methodologies, spinal circuit and activity modeling at Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, and basal ganglia controller models will be used to improve the detection of neuronal activity in large neuronal ensembles, develop software for analyzing large-scale data, and assess how neuronal activities are modified. This network of excellence will enhance the strengths of Indian and Italian research groups in modeling circuits, employing knowledge from such designs for bio-robotics and advanced information processing in neural circuits, especially during dysfunction. |
