National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NITC) is a Technical Institution of national importance set up by an Act of parliament (Act 29 of 2007). Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur is one of the National Institutes of Technology in the country. The Govt. of India granted the institute of Deemed to be University status in 2002, and status of an Institute of National Importance along with all other NITs, in 2007. The prime objective of the institute is to impart quality technical education throughout the country and foster national integration. VNIT offers various UG, PG, and doctoral, and distance programmes.

National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh was established in Tadepalligudem town, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh in the academic year 2015-16. The institute is admitting students into B. Tech in 8 branches of Engineering with an intake of 480 students. NIT Warangal is the mentor institute till regular arrangements are made.
