The National Institute of Technology, Durgapur (formerly Regional Engineering College, Durgapur), is a University which awards B.Tech., M.C.A., M.Sc., M.B.A.,M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees to students after their successful completion of the specified courses.

National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand (NITUK) is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technologies in the country.The institute is recognised as an Institute of National Importance. At present, the institute offers B. Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. programmes. The Institute will be offering M.Tech. this year through CCMT. Initially, the institute started B. Tech. programmes in three branches with an intake of 30 students per branch. Currently the Institute is conducting B. Tech. programes in five branches with an intake of 65 students (including 5 DASA students) in each branch.

The National Institute of Technology, Agartala (NITA) is an institute of higher education and national imporatnce, established by India's Ministry of Human Resource Development in Agartala, India. Presently the Institute offers eight UG courses and PG courses in several fields along with Post Doctoral Fellowships. The Institute’s mission is to help to improve the economic development of the country particularly the North-East states and also the public systems, through pursuit of excellence in technical education, research, consultancy and training.

The National Institute of Technology Sikkim, commonly referred to as NIT Sikkim or NIT SKM, is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and has been declared as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. The National Institute of Technology (formerly known as Regional Engineering College) Tiruchirappalli has been conferred with autonomy in financial and administrative matters to achieve rapid development, and was granted Deemed University Status with the approval of the UGC/AICTE and Govt. of India in 2003 and renamed as National Institute of Technology.

The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Meghalaya is one among the thirty one NITs in India established under the NIT Act 2007 (Amended 2012) of the Parliament of India as Institutes of National Importance with full funding support from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
