Sun Pharma Science Scholar Awards

These Awards are presented to brilliant and upcoming young researchers with the aim of discovering and promoting young talent in scientific research. The goal is to stimulate young minds to pursue research as a career by soliciting commitment to the cause of future advancement of science. These young scientists are called Sun Pharma Science Scholars. Each award carries a certificate and a cash award of Rs. 50,000/-.

8th annual science journalism workshop

Students will learn the elements of good science writing and the art and craft of conducting effective interviews. The workshop will focus on news and features, two forms of writing that can form the foundation for a career in communicating science to the lay person. Popular science writing and journalism isn’t merely about summarising an academic paper. Rather, it strives to entertain and educate, provide multiple points-of-view, and at its best be an independent and necessary part of a thriving culture of scientific enquiry.

Environment Management

This course provides an overview of the key concepts and principles in environmental management, areas of global and national environmental concern, and strategies and tools for effective environmental management. Attempt to understand the genesis of environmental problems; the concerns that lead to various international and national initiatives to tackle them have been made in this course. Various tools, which can be used to address environmental problems and the role that the professionals can play in managing environment in their respective areas would be discussed.

International Travel by Non-ICMR Scientists

The Scheme provides financial assistance for presenting research paper or chairing a session as also delivering lectures in an international scientific event (Conference/ Seminar/ Symposia/ Workshops) to Non-ICMR Bio-medical Scientists. The theme of the event should be related to the thrust areas/ activities of ICMR. In addition, support is also provided to young scientists (age limit 35 years as on date of event), nurses and paramedical staff for attending training programmes and short- term Schools/ Workshops/ Courses on the basis of the priority areas already defined.

CSIR - Travel Grant

CSIR has a scheme for providing full/partial travel assistance to any deserving bright young Indian Research Scholars / Scientists working in an academic or research institution in India for participating in Conferences/ Symposia/ Workshop etc. held abroad. The applicant should have passed at least M.Sc/B.E./MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized University/ Institute and his/her age should not normally be above 40 years on the date of commencement of the event. For scientists, these age restrictions do not apply.

CTEP (Conference, Travel, Exhibition and Popular Lectures)

To popularise Biotechnology activities in India, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India provides financial assistance towards organizing Conference/ Seminar/ Symposium/ Workshop and Travel support to the researchers for presenting their papers in the conferences which are being organised outside the country. It also extends support for organising DBT stalls in Exhibitions held with in the country as well as outside the country. Financial supports are also provided for organising Popular Lectures.
